Lois V Reading , PA February 03, 2017 Appliance: Maytag Atlantis Washer MAV7600AWW Washer timer skipped cycles and didn't dump water sometimes Looked up timer part on line using washer model number and part number, watched videos that showed it looked doable and ordered the part. Also read several narratives written by customers on how they put the part in. Part came on the second day and I installed it after watching the video a second time. Washer is 14 years old. Used a C-Clamp (not shown in video) to gradually squeeze the wiring harness into the stabs so it clicked in place. Timer is made in USA and functions great. The repair was easy because the videos and narratives are available on line. Athena A Round Rock , TX February 27, 2016 Appliance: Maytag Atlantis Washer MAV7700AWW Washer full of water when it showed to be at the end of the rinse/spin cycle After checking this website and some forums, AND my dad telling me that if the pump is draining when I try to force a rinse/spin then it's not the pump, I purchased the timer. I have a 15 year old Maytag Atlantis, and while the control panel was slightly more difficult to get out than the video showed, it wasn't too terrible. My dad did have to come in to help when I saw the timer and it had what looked like a computer board attached to the outside, even that though turned out to be no big deal. In less than 10 minutes we had the part replaced and I had the control panel back into place. The video shown on the product page was very helpful giving me the basic knowledge I needed (and the confidence) to replace the part, if my dad hadn't happened to be over I would have been able to do it all myself, it just would have taken a little longer. I also googled videos on taking apart my specific washer and that was also very helpful (having my tablet right there in the laundry room while I did the job). My washer works great now! I'm glad I decided to try to do it myself rather than hire a repair person for such a simple fix. And my dad took the old timer apart and sure enough there were some burned bits on the inside, one or two of the mechanism parts were not able to read the cogs to switch the cycle. Shay R Osceola , WI January 27, 2019 Appliance: Maytag Atlantis Washer MAV7600AWW My 17 year old Maytag Atlantis washing machine would no longer complete the rinse and spin cycle leaving a full tub of soapy water I looked up online to see what the potential problem was and part that needed to be replaced. I determined that the timer on my washing machine probably needed to be replaced. I could open the lid and turn the dial backwards to the spin cycle and it would drain the water and complete the last cycle. So that is how I determined it wasn’t a problem with the drain pump/motor or lid switch. I have had great success with ordering parts from Appliance Parts pros and love the videos they have that show you exactly how to replace the parts you order. I watched the video on replacing the timer. It was an easy fix even though my model was slightly different than the one in the video. I no longer wait for my husband to fix things! This is the 3rd appliance repair I’ve accomplished on my own,as a woman who refuses to pay a high price for professional repairs! With the help of appliance pros video repairs as my guide it was a success! Michael A Durham , NC February 05, 2016 Appliance: Maytag Atlantis Washer MAV7600AWW Maytag mav7600aww washer would occasionally not drain or spin but would time out and cut off with water still in drum I replaced the timer. To do so, I unplugged the washer; then I had to remove two screws at back of the washer holding the controls panel. I also removed the timer push on cover, a plastic push pin and plastic dial from the top of the timer. After turning the controls panel over, I unplugged and removed a circuit board attached to the bottom of the old timer with snap in plastic studs. I then unplugged and removed one hex screw which was holding the old timer in. I raised a plastic clip on the left side of the timer and pushed/slid the old timer to toward the center of the panel to remove the old timer. Then, I just reversed the procedure to install the new timer. The plastic dial has alignment tabs that must be placed correctly when reinstalling on the timer shaft (followed by push pin and cover). Plugged back in and everything worked great. I took the bottom off of the old timer, which was hinged with just two clips, and found a dark pair of contacts which had obviously been heating and arcing, causing a bad connection periodically, confirming my suspicion that the timer was the cause of the intermittent problem with draining and spinning (not the lid switch in this case) Read More... 1 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 15-30 minutes Tools: Screwdrivers, Socket Set
