Robert C Reidsville , NC September 19, 2015 Appliance: Maytag Gas Dryer MGD6400TQ0 Dryer gas valve My dryer would heat intermittently. I noticed that when it would fail to heat I could hear a faint chatter sound which I presumed to be the solenoid valves on the gas valve not opening as expected. I considered just ordering the solenoid valves but reasoned that the solenoids may be sticking due to a mechanical issue with the gas valve itself. I chose to replace the whole gas valve assembly. The replacement was fairly simple and only took me about an hour. While I had the dryer tore apart, I greased all of the idler wheels for the drum. It is now running and heating like new.
