Whirlpool WPW10206287 Burner Valve (Lr) OEM Part

Ordered correct replacement parts (your online form helped to identify correct valves 2 had black dot on inside stem for back small burner 1 had red dot for larger front burner). locked stove, turned off gas, unplugged cord. removed knobs, 5 screws and front plate also removed L shaped plate below knobs for better access to comp. fittings. pulled off ignitior controls loosened compression fittings (hard to get wrench on nut but doable), removed screw holding valve to manifold. reversed order for new valves. Lit burners and sprayed soap solution on all joints to check for leaks. All good.

Watched a video on how to replace the valve and learned that you can lock the stove and disable the gas and electric to the burners to do the repair simply by holding in the Start button for 5 seconds. The rest was easy and only took less than15 minutes to complete. This isn't the first time. I'm an old hand at it now. These valves, though expensive, go bad after a few years in that suddenly they refuse to turn on (It is fortunate that they fail in this manner - what if they wouldn't turn off?). The repair is simple, but the flange nut on the end of the valve (the pipe that goes to the burner) is difficult to get to with an open end wrench). One can take loose the supply manifold (the pipe that all the other valves are connected to) and that helps a little bit. I now have three spares (one for each type of burner (low BTU, high BTU, and griddle-in-the-middle), because another one will fail soon.
