Ann E Edwardsville , IL March 29, 2017 My washing machine made a terrible high pitched squealing noise when adding water (fill rinse etc). I replaced the water inlet valve assembly. We have relatively hard water and I assumed that over the years those inlet valves were clogged with calcium deposits which in turn led to the high pitched squealing as water was added to the machine. The hardest part of the entire job was releasing the top of the washer to disconnect the hoses from the valve assembly. Everything else was relatively easy. We simply followed the online video. My washer no longer screams and I'm thrilled! Your videos are fabulous. Thank you for providing all the information we needed to do the job ourselves. This is my second purchase. I fixed a dryer timer a year ago. Any time I can fix it myself and save the cost of a repairman coming to the house, its a great day! iHopefully, I'll get a few more years of use out of my laundry pair. Thank you! Ron M Nashville , TN April 26, 2014 Appliance: Whirlpool Washer WTW7340XW0 Inlet fill valve cracked Easy install of new valve on this unit. Hardest part was releasing the 4 water lines that went to the underside of the valve, but that wasn't really hard. The part that was sent to me was easy to put on and came complete making the replacement quick. Never having done this on this model of washer was more a mental challenge than a repair challenge. Nancy F Fredericksburg , VA July 12, 2015 Appliance: Whirlpool Washer WTW6600SW3 Whirlpool washer leaking water inside the tub when the washer was not on I replaced the water inlet valve. I watched the video on APP website many times and took notes. I disconnected the power and water to the washer. I disconnected the wires from the old valve and marked the new valve connector with letters: W=white; P=purple, etc.. I used duck tape to secure the top door to the top of the washer. I pushed a putty knife into the clips that held the top to the body. Lift the top and secured it with duck tape. I marked the four hoses with numbers 1 to 4. I used plier to loosen the clamps. Pulled the hoses out of the old valve. Removed two screws from the old valve, Lift the old valve out. Put the new valve in, secured with two screws. Connected all the wires corresponds with color letters. Connected all four hoses to the new valve, and secured with clamps. I fixed the leak.
