H Gene P Muskogee , OK June 24, 2019 Appliance: Maytag Top Loading Washer LAT9416AAE Water dripping in tub thru fill spout while not in use Replaced the water valve. Easy repair. The repair video was spot-on. Tools needed: Slip joint pliers for removing and attaching the hoses and moving the hose clip. 5/16 nut driver. Phone to take a picture so I could get the wires put back right. Shut off the water and unplug from power. Remove the hoses. Using a 5/16 nut driver remove the single screw that holds the bracket, lift bracket slightly and pull from the washer. There is a little slack in wires and fill hose to work with. Take a picture of the valve to see the orientation of the colored wires. Remove the wiring connectors from each end. Remove the wire harness from the clip on valve unit. Squeeze the spring clip on the hose, slide it up the hose and remove the hose from the valve. Valve and bracket should now be free. Take note of the valve in relation to the bracket (which end is up). Remove 2 5/16 screws to remove the old valve. to install, reverse the order. Attached the new valve to bracket with the 2 5/16 screws. Attach hose and move clip back into place. Attach wire connectors making sure to get colored wires in right place. Slide wiring harness under the clip on the valve. Install valve and bracket into the washer and secure with 5/16 screw. Run a little water thru the hoses into the drain to clear sediment before attaching to the valve. Turn on the water and check for leaks. Start to finish was about 15 - 20 minutes going slow and double-checking myself as I went. No setbacks or problems encountered.
