Jeremiah J Worcester , MA August 07, 2015 The fasteners on the mullion had broken Even though the fasteners probably only cost a few cents, I had to buy a new mullion for my fridge. $80! $80 because two nylon fasteners were poorly designed. Replacing the part was easy once I paid the *$80* for the new part. Unscrewed the old mullion. Slipped on the new $80 part. Debra M Newark , OH September 23, 2017 Appliance: Model 596.76582600 Tenant failed to tell me that the left french door on the fridge had to be lifted up to close it which broke the mullion Removed screw from mullion, lifted mullion up a little and then unclipped the wires. Replaced mullion , hooking wire clip back together first and then lined up the areas that hook back on fridge. Also removed left door by removing top hinge screw from fridge top(hinge stays screwed on top of fridge door), and unclip wires and water line if there is one just by unhooking clips. Lifted door up(after taking condiments from inside door), and laid the door on the table. Removed the broken hinge bushing and inserted new bushing. Set the door back on the bottom hinge and replaced screws on the top of fridge through screw holes in top hinge on top of door, and replaced plastic hinge cover. Done ! It worked perfectly. It helped me tremendously by watching online videos. I had no idea what a mullion was before this ! I'm female and this was pretty easy ! I had to find a picture of how the fridge door was put together so I would know what parts were needed. Read More...
