After 15 years of use, the pivot block and flapper door had worn to the point where closing the left side of the refrigerator was becoming difficult and it would stick. Buying new parts cost a little over $200, but as this is less than 1/10 the price of a new refrigerator, it was worth it. The removal and re-installation of the pivot block were super easy, just two screws and the pivot block was out. The replacement was also easy. The Flapper door was only 1 screw, and the video detailing how to replace the flapper door was very specific and easy to follow. I only had to watch it once. This repair can be easily done with a single 6 in 1 screwdriver. I would recommend an addition to the video instructions. Since the screws are metal and the frame of the refrigerator is plastic, I would recommend that DIYers, when re-inserting the screws, slowly turn the screw BACKWARDS until it clicks then screw the screw in. This procedure more precisely aligns the screw with the previously cut threads in the frame and prevents the hole from stripping.
