The Thermostat is an OEM part for SpeedQueen dryers. The thermostat monitors and regulates the temperature inside the dryer drum during operation. It is responsible for sensing the dryer heat and activating the heating element at the selected temperature setting.

Causes of a bad thermostat can include overheating over time, fluctuations in electrical current that may damage components, or impact damage.

Symptoms of a bad thermostat include:

• The dryer not heating up or heating unevenly
• Constantly shutting off due to overheating errors
• Inability to select desired temperature settings
• Premature ending of dry cycles

This limit thermostat monitors dryer temperature and opens the heating circuit if temperatures climb too high, helping protect the appliance and laundry. Replacing a failed thermostat restores reliable heat and safe temperature control. What it does:

• Monitors temperature at the heater/blower housing and opens at its limit to prevent overheating
• Helps maintain safe drying temperatures during normal cycles
• Common symptoms of a failed thermostat: no heat or intermittent heat, dryer runs too hot/overheats, or cycles end early due to overheating

• 1 limit thermostat

• Disconnect power and, if applicable, shut off gas before servicing
• Access the thermostat location per your model (typically on the heater housing or blower duct), remove mounting screws, and note wire positions
• Transfer wires to the new thermostat and mount it flush for proper sensing
• After reassembly, clear lint and verify venting/airflow to prevent repeat overheating
