Dan I have a thermador SMW272YP oven. Two problems. One is that when I previously was cleaning the oven, the thermal switch popped out. I reset and since then I sometimes get F2 or F4 error even at temperatures below 450 degrees. I am currently trying to cause failure to be sure of code, but now it is working (even cleaning currently). Should I replace this? Second, my lower oven door does not close. I see this is a common problem. Are there replacement parts which will alleviate this problem for good or what are the best set of parts to buy and replace for this situation?
Answer Hi. F2 = Over temperature detected. Intermittent temperature sensor or bad main relay board part # 00702450 (single oven).Double oven is part # 00702451. Replace the temperature sensor. If control still displays F2, replace main relay board. F4 = Shorted sensor. A short circuit in the oven wiring. Check all connections. check resistance of the sensor part # 00414152 for 1050 ohms @ 77°. The door hinge is part # 00487747. Hinge receiver part 3 00414510. They both require replacing at the same time for a proper door operation. Thank You. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Thursday, October 25, 2012
