Bill for Model Number PGCS1PJXCSS The LED light panel stopped working. Since LED lights are supposed to last tens of thousands of hours, I removed the LED panel and hooked it up to a DC power source and found that the LED lights did light-up and therefore were not defective. Since the LED panel was confirmed to work, I tested the wires that lead to the LED panel for DC voltage with the doors open and found that there was no current. The door switches (it's a side by side fridge with two bottom freezer drawers) appear to be working normally as they properly sense when each door is open because the open door indicator flashes. Plus, if it were just one side of the double doors that didn't operate the light, it would clearly be a door switch, but it doesn't work when either side is opened. I'm not sure what else to check. Is it possible that it's the main board? Every other function is working properly, including the light in the freezer section. Thank you in advance.
Answer Hello Bill, You will want to test the transformer to make sure that it is getting and sending power to the lights. The transformer is located behind unit in the machine compartment. If transformer is not getting power then you would want to replace the control board. If transformer is getting power but not sending power then replace transformer WR55X10944. Read More...
