John for Model Number ge monogram ZIC360N Freezer evaporator freezes up causing the freezer temp to drop to -13 and no flow to the refrig making the temp rise to 50 degrees. I tested the heater defroster for continudity and it was good. The fan operates fine - does any body know what the problem can be? Now that I have defrosted it will work fine for about a month????
Answer Hello John. Make sure the thermodisc WR50X10030 on the evaporator reads closed when cold. If so, and the heater is good, you will need to replace the main board WR55X11130. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter.
