Chongguang Xu for Model Number DPXR483EA1WW My dryer was dead. I checked door switch, Start switch, thermal fuse and power outlet with multimeter and they all seemed OK. A visual check didn't show any burning sign or poor connections. I even replaced the motor but it still not help. Now I wonder if the timer control is faulty. If it is possible cause, can you tell me how to test it? Thanks.
Answer Chongguang, With power removed from the dryer, and the timer dial set in any dry cycle, the timer, you should have a "closed" circuit between "B" (red) and "C" (brown) wire terminals, with the wires disconnected. Did you also check the idler switch WD21X10261 and wires when you replaced the motor? if the switch is faulty or the wires are damaged or broken, the dryer will not start or run as well. Read More...
