Cynthia for Model Number RSG257/AARS I have the same issue as mentioned above. The answer as to how to remove the freezer door is helpful. However, since I do not want to take off the freezer door until I have the part(s), I would like to know which part(s) I need to order. Based on the freezer door diagram, I am wondering if I need both part 5 and 6? All I know is that it is a plastic part which broke (since I found a small black plastic piece on the floor). Thank you.
Answer Cynthia, With a black piece that has broken at the bottom of the freezer door, there are 2 possibilities, the first would be the upper riser cam DA66-00558B and the lower hinge assembly DA97-06158A. The lower cam comes as part of the lower hinge assembly and one of these 2 would be what is needed. It would not be bad to change both as one can be damaged by the other. Read More...
