Larry L for Model Number RF260BEAESR/AA mfr date Sept 2012 We have a 3-year old Samsung refrigerator and the water supply line to the ice maker in the freezer drawer keeps freezing up. It has never made ice very well (2 trays per day at best) and stopped altogether about 6 months ago. We had just replaced the water filter (do that annually) but reinstalling the old filter didn't help. Water supply is good. I replaced the ice maker assembly with no improvement. Used a hair dyer to thaw the supply line and it made half-trays of ice every couple hours for about a day. Have repeated that scenario (thaw, works for a day, fails) twice. We can hear it dump the empty tray and the water valve opens but no water goes into the tray. Any ideas before we break down and call for service?
Answer Larry, On the fill tube of the icemaker there is a heater. If this heater has failed it will cause the fill tube to freeze up. The part number that would be needed for this issue would be DA97-00209Z. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Wednesday, June 8, 2016
