This machine control board is the washer's electronic brain, directing the motor, water valves, and cycle timing. Replacing a failed board restores proper control of wash, rinse, and spin functions and helps resolve erratic or non-starting cycles.

  • Coordinates cycle timing and sends power to the drive motor, drain pump, and fill valves
  • Monitors inputs from the door lock and sensors to manage operation
  • Failure can cause the washer not to start, stop mid-cycle, or fail to spin or drain
  • Associated with control-related error codes or intermittent operation
What's included: 1 machine control board Install notes:
  • Disconnect power to the appliance before servicing
  • Handle the board by the edges and use ESD protection to avoid static damage
  • Label or photograph wiring; move connectors to the new board one at a time and verify ribbon-cable orientation
  • Mount securely and ensure all harnesses are fully seated before restoring power and running diagnostics per the tech sheet

Do I try another control board? Ever had a bad, new control board? My original trouble shooting came up with "replace control board." (Machine stopped during wash, stopped at end of rinse 3, and usually did not spin. I could keep restarting and occassionally get through a complete wash and spin.) So, put in new control board. This gave me new problems: Machine stayed on for complete wash but did not attempt to spin and the machine would auto start when the timer was moved to a run position (line relay still closed but door light had gone out at end of wash). Door locked light and door light go out in different sequence than before. So, I replaced wax motor and timer, although not conviced I needed to. Neither changed anything. Rechecked out-of balance and door locked switches up to the control board. Checked motor and motor control board just because I am running out of things to check. Motor and motor control are the updated version and new 2 years ago. Try another control board????

Answer

Jim, No, , your issue was not in the control board to begin with. Check and make sure you have the correct part installed, based on the model and serial number. Based on your post, the original issue would have been with the water level switch WP22002921 , water supply at the faucets, fill valve WP22002437 or air dome hose 22002483. When the main control runs a system check, during the cycle,if it doesn't see the proper circuit from the water level switch, it can result in a shut down of the washer. The control also "counts" the fill cycles, if it doesn't see the proper amount of fills for the cycle counts, it will shut down as well. Also check for any loose connections at the multiplug connectors, mounted to the cabinet frame on each side of the outer tub, and the drain pump for operation as well. Good Luck and Thanks
