This machine control board is the washer's electronic brain, directing the motor, water valves, and cycle timing. Replacing a failed board restores proper control of wash, rinse, and spin functions and helps resolve erratic or non-starting cycles.

  • Coordinates cycle timing and sends power to the drive motor, drain pump, and fill valves
  • Monitors inputs from the door lock and sensors to manage operation
  • Failure can cause the washer not to start, stop mid-cycle, or fail to spin or drain
  • Associated with control-related error codes or intermittent operation
What's included: 1 machine control board Install notes:
  • Disconnect power to the appliance before servicing
  • Handle the board by the edges and use ESD protection to avoid static damage
  • Label or photograph wiring; move connectors to the new board one at a time and verify ribbon-cable orientation
  • Mount securely and ensure all harnesses are fully seated before restoring power and running diagnostics per the tech sheet

Rick for Model Number MLG2000AWW

I have the MLG2000AWW and it's about 10 years old. It has performed well over the 10 years with only a few problems. This one has me stumped. The washer suddenly will not spin. I have checked the balance circuit.. OK. I have checked the wax motor and made sure it is engaging the spin switch... OK... but we still have no spin. I've downloaded the manual and it says the control board. Is this what you expect as well? Is there anyway to visually inspect the control board to see if there is something wrong with it? Thanks!

Answer

Rick, With your description, you need to check the "spin enable switch" on the door latch assembly WP22002162. Once the washer is started in a spin cycle, the wax motor expands and the door is locked, with the red and yellow wire(s) disconnected, check the switch ternminals for a "closed" circuit, with the wires disconnected. Or check for 24 VDC into the switch on the red wire and 24 VDC out on the yellow wire. If the circuit and VDC voltage does not get transported up to the main control board, the washer will not spin. If all's OK, check for loose connections and wires at the multi plug connectors on both sides of the tub assembly, then go up and check the main control board in the right front corner of the dryer cabinet. Thanks and Good Luck
