Jlofty My agitator jams and becomes unwound from the helix cap super easy. Do you know if this replacement cap is identical design to the original (2004) or did they tweak the engineering of it to function better in the past 8 yrs? I am buying a new bucket and wondered if I should try a new helix cap at the same time.... Thanks, J
Answer JLofty, To the best of our knowledge, the manufacturer has not redesigned the helix drive cap. There are several other possible issues that you will need to check. Is the auger motor WP67003226,drive yoke WP10114901 and motor cover assembly 12786502 perpendicular and straight, or at a slight angle. Is there excessive back and forth movement in the auger 10114401 dispenser bar 10113801 or wheel WP67002052 Any excess movement in the auger shaft, would allow the drive helix to dislocate from the bin. This could also be due to excessive ice cubes, extremely cold and frozen cubes, and worn out spacers and blades in the mandiplte. You may want to consider dismantling the assembly and repairing the worn parts, or may want to consider this WP12740302 agitator assembly Read More...
