Cindy for Model Number MHWZ600TE I have a Maytag Epic washer, purchased in 2008. I push the power button and it turns on, but when I push the start button it just goes off. I replaced the control panel, the door latch and the elec.control unit. It still did the same thing, so I finally called a repairman, who said it was the elec. control, bad part. Do you thinks he's right?
Answer Hello Cindy, First verify all connections by unplugging and re-connecting each of the connections to the main control, the motor control, and the motor, one at a time. You then should try to put the unit into the diagnostic test as described in the tech sheet. This should be located in a re-sealable plastic bag behind the bottom front panel.
