The Control Board is an OEM part for Whirlpool dishwashers. As the central processing unit, this board regulates all cycles and component functions including wash and rinse settings, heating controls and the digital display.

Symptoms of a failed control board include:

  • Inability to select or change wash/rinse options
  • Cycles failing to complete through all settings
  • Error codes displayed or unresponsive controls

Causes can be normal wear of electronic components over extended use. Exposure to fluctuating internal temperatures may also deteriorate electrical connections over time.

This OEM Whirlpool part can also be used on Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore/Sears brand appliances.

Mike for Model Number KUDP02CRBS2

Cycle selection LEDs do not light up when pressed and washer won't start. I turned off power >5mins no luck. I did manual reset by alternately pressing Hi Temp Scrub and Heat Dry 5 times. It ran thru diagnostics. When done no LEDs were lit. I pressed Cancel as I read and when that was done still unable to select Normal (or any) wash cycle. Does this sound like a bad control board or something else? If I purchase the part(s) and they don't solve the problem can I return them for a full refund? Thanks -- Mike

Answer

Hello Mike, the fact the control board ran through the diagnostic cycle shows that the control board is ok and that part of the keypad is working, what this sounds like is a failing keypad/touch membrane WP8572205. As far as the return part policy, you can contact our Customer Service at 1-877-477-7278, for that information.
