Tony for Model Number Whirlpool LA5558XTW2 My washer fills but intermittently (increasingly) does not agitate. Most of the time if you move the agitator or the drum by hand, this will start the machine working. Once it starts, it completes the cycle fine (agitate/rinse/spin). The timer has been replaced and goes through its cycle fine. The lid switch is currently bypassed. Since it spins fine (even with heavy loads), I am thinking the clutch is okay. Does this sound like a motor switch failure? What else should I be checking? Thanks. Tony
Answer Hi Tony. You are experiencing the motor failure. You can replace the motor switch part # WP8529896 or the motor assy. complete part # WP661600.
