Sergio for Model Number mah4000aww My maytag wont do a full spin. And then a few minutes later it shuts down do you think the motor is bad ?
Answer Hi Sergio. Is the door lock light coming on ? If not then you will need to replace the latch spring part # 22003717. The wax motor part # WP22002119. The spin enable switch and the door lock switch (both the same part #) x2 #WP22002162. This will get the door to fully lock. Remove the front door panel by first remove the door w/ hinges still hooked to the door side. Then remove the 2-opposite side inner panel clips and lay these screws aside so you know proper placement of these. Then remove the front panel by holding the upper panel inner/ outer edges and slightly twist while pulling the panel back up and off the front lower holder supports. Lay aside. Then look at the front rt. base for the motor control board. It will have one 5/16" top screw to remove and lift up to look at the board. If you see anything burnt or blown off the board , you need to replace the motor control assy. part # 12002039 if your serial # is before 88........ If you do not find anything there bad, then remove the rear control panel cover and look at the control board behind the timer. Especially notice if resister R-11 is open denoting the wax motor/latch system is bad. Control board is part # WP22002989. Thank You. Read More...
