Brian for Model Number KSM150PSER I'm having trouble narrowing down the part that is going bad in my mixer. It started when under a larger load (mixing dough) and has worsened to light loads like whipping butter. When under a load my mixer will slow down and really work to complete a rotation. If it runs like this for a few minutes it starts to get hot. My initial thought was that it might be a speed sensor (governor?) or the speed control plate. Since it seems to be a little wonky when turning on without a load too. For an experiment I just turned it up to 10 from a stop. (no attachments) It sped up to what sounds like a 6 and hovered between 4-7 for about 10 seconds then crept up to about an 8. It will burst up to nearly full before coming back down and doesn't stay at a constant speed. Then I thought maybe phase control board since one of the questions here sounds similar to what I'm experiencing. Then I thought perhaps motor itself. Any ideas? Thanks! ~Brian
Answer Hello Brian. The information you described leads more toward the motor in the unit. If the boards were bad, the load would not make a difference. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Friday, December 13, 2013
