Dj June 10, 2023 for Model Number K45SSWH My 13 month old KitchenAid mixer will not turn on. I replaced the control board and phase board, but it still won't turn on. I verified power to the control board. I have no voltage to the motor with either the original phase or replaced phase board. I have verified the brushes are install correctly. What else do I need to check? Can I connect the line voltage directly to the motor to verify the motor is working? Troubleshooting suggestions are greatly appreciated.
1 Answer Sounds like a possible issue with the speed plate WPW10119326. There is a video on the part page that may help. Read More...

Daniel October 13, 2020 for Model Number KSM150 I have an Artisan Stand Mixer. When I move the lever from OFF to STIR, it starts to run, but very slow (slower than regular STIR mode) and when I move the lever until 10, nothing change, it keeps running very slow with no speed increase. Should I replace the phase board, plate, governor or both?
1 Answer Daniel, It sounds like the phase board may need to be adjusted or replaced if the adjustment does not work. It would also be recommended to first check the motor brushes to make sure that they are not worn out. Read More...
John Leszar July 15, 2020 for Model Number K45SS I replaced all of these parts: WHIRLPOOL Phase control board (WPW10325124) WHIRLPOOL Speed control plate (WPW10119326) WHIRLPOOL Speed GOVERNOR (WPW10330804) The speed was erratic. Now the mixed doesn't work at all. I'm pretty sure I did everything correctly because I've even switched back to the old parts and put the new parts in again. It appears to have died on the workbench. Maybe the motor but don't know how to check that. Any suggestions?
1 Answer John, Check the motor brushes as they may be installed wrong or they may be worn causing the unit to not run. Read More...
Ksm90 April 18, 2020 for Model Number KSM90WH KSM90 Mixer will not turn on at any speed. Used meter to measure input voltage- got 120VAC between the black and white (lower left) leads on the control plate. I also measured the voltage between the red and white leads on the right hand side of the control plate. Also got 120VAC when “on” at any speed setting. When in the off position this reads about 2.2VAC. I assume this is the voltage going to the motor? The brushes are about 11/16 inches long. The unit worked one day, next day plugged it in and it wouldn’t work. No bad smells. Any suggestions on what’s wrong?
1 Answer KSM90, If you are receiving 120 Vac on the red and white wire to the motor then the control plate is faulty and would need to be replaced. For the issue of the motor not running, make sure that the brushes are in place properly, if they are then this will be an issue with the motor winding that is the most likely issue. Read More...
Elizabeth December 02, 2019 for Model Number KSM90 My kitchenaid ksm90 mixer would not power on after i dusted flour off of the speed control plate. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling it. There is no power or motor sounds at all. So i purchased a new phase control board as well as a new speed control plate and replaced them both (KitchenAid 4162402 and KitchenAid Mixer Phase Control Board 9706595). I also checked the voltage coming into the power cord at the board (normal). The unit will NOT power on at all, no matter how i adjust the screws. Any ideas?
1 Answer Elizabeth, with the unit unplugged, the end cover will need to be removed and the control plate contacts inspected for movement when the control speed selector is moved from the off position to any of the speeds. If there is no movement, the assembly will need to be checked to ensure that the speed arm and spring are secured fully. From there, the unit will need to be inspected for any loose wires as it is possible one may have come loose from a brush while the repairs were occurring. Read More...
Mariana D. June 11, 2019 for Model Number KSM150PSCO0 I recently moved to Portugal and I got my cornflower blue KitchenAid KSM150PSCO0 with me. How can I use it here since the voltage is 220v and the frequency 50hz? I didn't know I would have frequency problem and not only voltage issues! Luckily I didn't turn it on yet! Is there an option of changing the motor and other parts so it works here? With parts? Can you help me in this case? I don't want to loose my baby! Thanks
1 Answer Hello Mariana, You might be able to locate a power converter by contacting a travel agency or the like. Changing the parts on the appliance would cost more than replacing the complete appliance. Thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter. Read More...

Yaakov August 02, 2018 for Model Number 5ksm150pseac Hi! I have a 5ksm150pseac kitchenaid mixer (220 VOLT) and after a while of cluncking around around it finally stopped turning although by the sound of it the motor was still running. I opened it and found that the worm gear was shot, replaced it but now nothing's doing. Tested it with a multimeter to find continuous cycle, and can't a current through the small square board that has 4 wires attached to it (I do get reading through the motor and the rest). Does this show me the problem, or is there a specific combination to check it, and if so what's this part called? Thanks!
1 Answer Yaakov, For this issue the phase control board would be the issue with the unit if there is no power coming from it but getting power to it. Read More...
