Hi Don. You need a volt meter to see if you have 240 vac between the outer 2-legs of the power cord at the terminal block. Make sure the meter is set higher than the measurement for safety. The outer terminals are L-1 (blk) wire , the middle is the neutral (wht) wire, and the L-2 last wire is the (red)wire. Make sure you also have proper 120 vac between both L1 and L2 to neutral individually. The infinite switch for the 8" element is part # WP3149400. Have you been getting the correct switch ? The element is part # WPW10242957. At the switch you will have the black at the l-1 terminal. Red wire at l-2. Orange at the h-2 terminal. Orange with black stripe at the H-1 terminal. The blue at the p-terminal. On the element there is the orange wire going to the 2a terminal. The black (L-1) wire going to the 2b terminal. The Black wire going from the 1b terminal to the hot surface indicator. The orange / black wire to the one terminal left over unidentified on the wiring diagram. Thank You.
