Rick for Model Number GY397LXUB02 All the buttons work fine until the stove top gets hot. Then the membrane buttons lock up and control unit beeps several random times for several minutes. Then all returns to normal. Do I need a new control unit or membrane?
Answer Rick, check the connection from the membrane to the control board, look for any discoloration on the ribbon. Try cleaning the ribbon where it connects to the board. More than likely the main control is what is being affected by the heat and is locking up. Part number for the board is WP8507P390-60 if you see any burned spots on the ribbon, it will need to be replaced, part number is WPW10207928 Read More...
