Dave G. for Model Number maytag top-load washer model lat8214aae My 17 yr old maytag #lat8214aae clothes washer timer rotates during a cycle, but at times the cycles do not occur. Is this indicative of a bad timer? Specifically, how does one troubleshoot this device? The AP4028326 timer is ~$120.
Answer Hi Dave. If You are familar with the use of an ohm meter, you can isolate the timer and diagnose. By following the timer chart, you can advance th timer to see if the contacts close at the correct times. This will be the part to replace if you have intermittent cycles as described. This timer is part # WP22001025. Thank you. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Monday, July 18, 2011
