Adam for Model Number lat9605aae my maytag washer lat9605aae on Permanent press and normal settings only fills with water but then won't agitate or spin. The gentle cycle works fine though. I tried checking the black and yellow wires during the regular cycle and it shows electricity coming through on the regular cycle including agitation. Does this prove that it is the motor vs the timer? Or is there some other test I can do to prove one of the other? Thanks
Answer Hello Adam, You need to check from the "M" terminal on the motor, (where the Yellow wire connects), to the terminal that the Orange wire connects to while the power is off and you are manually activating the switch on the motor. This will show you the resistance of the slow speed windings of the motor. If it gives you a resistance reading, the timer WP22001026 is the problem. If not, the motor 12002353 is the issue.
