Karen for Model Number LAT9614AAE My washing machine from 1994 stopped working after the tub would fill with water. I replaced the Lid Switch assembly and Timer and I am still having problems. The Timer is making noises and will not advance. I can manually advance the timer to the next setting to finish the load. All functions work fine as long as I manually advance the timer. The new timer is making noises the old timer did not. Both timers would not advance? What do you suggest I do now. I bought both parts from you.
Answer Hello Karen. You will need to check your wiring going to the timer and see if it is bad. If so, it will prevent the timer from turning. It sounds like there is no power getting to the timer motor. Thanks. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
