This washer timer controls the sequence and length of the wash, rinse, and spin cycles. Replacing a failing timer restores proper cycle advancement and reliable switching between functions to help resolve stalls, continuous running, or cycles that never complete.

  • Governs timing and switching for fill, agitate, drain, and spin steps
  • Advances through each stage of the selected cycle
  • Routes power to the motor, water valves, and pump as required
  • Common symptoms: cycle won't advance, stops mid-cycle, runs continuously, won't start, or won't spin
What's included: 1 timer assembly Install notes:
  • Unplug the washer and turn off water supply before servicing
  • Open the control panel; remove knob/dial and mounting to free the old timer
  • Move wires one at a time from the old timer to the new timer to match positions
  • Secure the new timer, reassemble the console, restore power, and test a normal cycle

Jim, There's about a 1 or 2% possibility that the motor could be the issue, since the washer motor will run in the spin direction, it should run in the agitate direction. The first check should be at the timer, remove the wiring harness block and check the small brass contact terminals, to see if there are any that are bent, twisted,etc. then check the individual wires in the wiring block to make sure they aren't loose,twisted, bent, etc. You might want to use a small flat blade screwdriver and press down/in on each wire, once the harness block is installed and locked in place, to make sure the wires are seated and making proper contact with the terminals.
