Jimmy for Model Number Maytag Model LAT8614AAE My washing machine stops in the middle of a wash cycle when there is still 10 minutes remaining on the timer. The washing machine has 3 different wash cycles, Regular, Permanent Press, and Delicate. Only the Regular wash cycle works when you start it in the maximum wash position at 19 minutes and continues to run down until about 10 minutes where the cycle terminates prematurely. The Permanent Press and Delicate wash cycle do not start at all and I think this is related to the duration of the wash cycles which are all 10 minutes of less. After the wash cycle terminates prematurely the cycle timer continues to advance through rinse and spin cycles with nothing happening until the final spin cycle where it drains the wash water and does the final spin. Are the problems I describe here symptomatic of a timer assembly that needs to be replaced? Thanks, Jimmy
Answer Jimmy, First check the water level switch and air dome hose, WP208207 and WP22001619. If the air tube is clogged with debris, or the switch contacts stick in the full position, the circuit won't re set and allow the washer to fill for the rinse cycle, Then check the fill valve WP22001274 make sure you get a cold water fill and have plenty of cold water supplied at the faucet.
