Scott H. for Model Number MAH4000AWW Hello everyone, I had an issue a while back with the washer not spinning and making strange noises. I determined, with your sites help, that I had a missing phase issue. I replace the motor and motor control board and also replaced the wax motor, after reading your notes. Everything worked great for a week or so and now I have an intermittent issue with no spin. Sometimes I can select spin on a different cycle and it will go and sometimes I have to make quite a few attempts. I am wondering, do you think I have an issue with the timer or could it be that the wax motor is intermittently not quite making it far enough over to make the last microswitch? D you ever see weak wax motors come up after an installation?
Answer Scott, You're pretty much on target, It's not likely to be a timer problem, and if the wax motor isn't installed properly and shifts around in the assembly, the spin enable switch WP22002162 wont make contact and the washer wont spin. Check and make sure the latch spring is exerting enough pressure on the wax motor to hold it in place tightly. That's the place to start. Read More...
