This is a Frigidaire oven clock and timer. Not only does this component provide the current time, but it also acts as a general countdown timer. It also acts as an on/off toggle source, sending a signal to the control board to turn the range off once the cook timer has reached zero. When the clock and timer have gone bad, multiple things can take place. The screen may cease to work or may flash on and off. An early sign of this is dimming the backlight, making it hard to see the display. There could also potentially be a short in the relay, in which case the screen would continue to work. When the relay fails, the oven will stay powered even after the cooking timer has reached zero. This could lead to potentially dangerous situations.Replacing the oven clock and timer should only be done after unplugging the range from the outlet. On the back of the stove, remove the mounting screws that fasten the control board. Directly underneath the board are screws that can be accessed from inside the oven. Remove these screws as well, and remove the board. Use a screwdriver to pry the clock and timer out of position. Take a photo of the plug and wiring setup to ensure proper reinstallation later. This part is a genuine OEM product and is sourced directly from the manufacturer and sold individually. This part compatible with Electrolux and Frigidaire appliances.
