With small gasoline-powered tools that require control panels, this hex screw attaches the panel to the handles of the tools. Machined to be durable, important screws such as these take a real beating. In their locations at critical points on the handle, the hex screws are considered "wear items," and thus periodically, they must be replaced. The control panel itself is often a location of extreme forces, jostling, and abrupt movement in unpredictable directions. The constant movement, with sheet metal rubbing against the hex screws from every direction, make wear inevitable. The manufacturers recommend that spare screws of this type be kept on hand if the heavy use of the equipment is expected. Among the gasoline-powered tools that use these screws are snowblowers, yard tractors, mowers, tiller, chippers, shredders, and other tools requiring hand-maneuvered levers. These screws are compatible with a number of equipment brands and manufacturers, including MTD, Ryobi, Poulan, Yard-Man, Bolens, Troy-Bilt, and Yard Machines.

This lock washer is used frequently for a number of applications on power yard equipment. The size, 5/16, is the default for many small engine housing and manifold applications. Lock washers are used with machined bolts to fasten engine blocks to the housing of the equipment being used. The compressed washer is able to handle the constant vibration of the small gasoline engine without losing the seal between the screw or bolt and the housing. Typically these lock washers only need to be replaced when they are misplaced during repairs or when the screws that attach them have to be chiseled or cut away, meaning the washers are destroyed as well. These OEM certified replacement washers have been manufactured to the same specifications as the originals they are replacing. In addition to lawn mowers, lock washers of this type and size are frequently used on blowers, lawn tractors, cultivators, snowblowers, and trimmers. Brands compatible with this type of washer are Murray, Husky, Poulan, Bolens, Yard-Man, Cub Cadet, Troy-Bilt, Yard Machines, MTD, and Ryobi.

This is a simple set of lawnmower ignition keys. They’re also used for an array of riding mowers, lawn tractors, and even snowblowers. To simplify repair and replacement procedures, most manufacturers use standardized keys for all their machines in a given class. As a result, a single key can be used for dozens of machines. The keys are manufactured from stainless steel, with an INDAK logo stamped into the center. Regardless of whether the machine is a walk-behind mower or a full-sized lawn tractor, a keyed ignition is easier to operate than a recoil cord. Similarly, replacing a key is generally straightforward. The exception is if the old key has snapped off in the ignition. In this case, a set of needle-nosed pliers can sometimes be used to extract the key. A powerful magnet can also be helpful if the broken key is being stubborn. In the worst-case scenario, the ignition may need to be replaced. This is an OEM part sourced directly from MTD, and it is sold as a set of two.
This is a seven-inch cable tie that is used with different types of lawn and garden equipment. It is most commonly used to secure the cable onto the handle of the lawnmower or tiller so it is secure. The cable tie is made of durable plastic but can be damaged or break. When this happens, the tie will need to be replaced to ensure the cable stays on the handle. If the cable tie needs to be replaced, no tools are needed. In the situation where other parts need to be replaced at the same time, a basic set of tools and a pair of work gloves may be required. Turn off the yard equipment and place it on a stable surface before replacing the broken cable tie. The old tie can be removed so the new one can be installed before further use. This cable tie is an authentic OEM replacement part that is directly sourced from the manufacturer. This product is sold individually. The component is designed to be compatible with lawnmowers, lawn tractors, tillers, and snowblowers manufactured by MTD, Troy-Bilt, Yard-Man, and Yard Machines.
