It is recommended that the oil filter is replaced annually or every 100 hours. Remember to prepare something to catch the oil when replacing the oil filter. The old one will need to be unscrewed to replace it, but be sure to coat the seal of the new filter with oil before installing it. To ensure that the new oil filter is in place, make sure it touches the plate it seals against by giving the filter a firm turn to tighten it down.
