The Mullion Heater is an OEM part for Bosch refrigerators. It is designed to prevent condensation from forming on the refrigerator door mullion, the vertical divider between the doors. This heater ensures that the mullion stays warm enough to stop moisture from condensing and causing potential water damage or mold growth.
Causes of a bad mullion heater can include electrical failures, wear and tear from continuous use, or manufacturing defects.
Symptoms of a bad mullion heater include:
- Visible condensation or frost on the door mullion
- Water pooling or dripping around the door area
- Increased humidity inside the refrigerator
- Mold or mildew developing near the door seal
This OEM Bosch part is also compatible with Thermador, Gaggenau, and some Kenmore models.

Open the left door and remove shelves. Remove the three torx screws from the left side metal rail and remove the rail. Disconnect the wires from the door to the heating element and lift the element off the retaining screws. Reverse the process to install the new heating element. Very simple repair.
