Janice C Piney Flats , TN August 26, 2023 Appliance: Model BOSCH SHEM78W52N/10 Door gasket was deteriorating leaving black marks on anything that touched it. We replaced the black door seal gasket around the front of the dishwasher. The old black seal gasket had begun to deteriorate, every time it was touched black stuff would rub off onto hands and onto utensils in the upper basket. We wore some disposable gloves to remove the old seal to avoid getting the black stuff on our hands. Before entirely removing the old seal gasket we studied its placement to tell which way the new seal gasket should be placed. We didn’t want to place the seal gasket backwards. I folded the seal gasket in half as the video suggested to find the center and marked it with a magic marker. We carefully cleaned the narrow channel groove where the new one would fit to be sure there was no debris or black stuff remaining. As the video suggested we aligned the marked center of the seal with the door latch and began pressing the seal gasket into the channel groove at the top center. We finger pressed left and right along the top and stopped at the curves. We looked to see how much seal gasket was hanging down and measured to be sure an equal amount would eventually be pressed into the side grooves with the ends in a similar distance from the bottom. We knew not to stretch the seal gasket. Once the seal gasket was in place we double checked with finger pressing to be sure it was equally pressed into place all around. Almost done! I used a paper towel with ordinary glass cleaner to clean the door where the seal gasket makes contact to be sure no black stuff remained. I removed the strainer from the bottom of the dishwasher and scrubbed it clean with a toothbrush and liquid dish detergent. The black stuff from the old seal gasket had accumulated in the screens and plastic parts. This job was quite easy, did not require any tools except paper towels, spray cleaner, toothbrush, liquid dish detergent and an old rag. We ran the dishwasher through a short rinse cycle to be sure there would be no leaks. Read More... 10 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 15-30 minutes
Amir A Chapel Hill , NC February 03, 2018 Intermittent leaking from our bosch dishwasher Just to start, I began noticing intermittent leaking (small puddle of water mainly on the right side) from our Bosh dishwasher. So I began researching and looking closely at the seals. One thing I found out is that there is a hole in the Bosh dishwashers on the right side wall and you should not be putting anything tall (cutting boards, pan lids, large plates etc....) and we were doing this. The other thing I found out is that the door gasket looked very worn in several spots. Replacing the gasket we received was very simple. I did end up cleaning the the housing with dish soap. Just fold the gasket in half to mark the halfway mark, begin inserting at the center of the Dishwasher (look at the latch) and just push the gasket in down the line and then go to the other side. you'll have 1/4" to 1" extra (note with the one I got here there was very little slack). Test the door to make sure it looks, sounds and feels like its sealing... NOT TOOLS NEEDED. Test your DW by running it a couple of times when you can be around and can check for leaking while its running... I did not replace the lower door seal as this part does not seem to need replacement. Read More... 88 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: Less than 15 minutes
Demitry H Allentown , PA July 28, 2018 Appliance: Model BOSCH DISHWASHER Bosch dishwasher leaking at door I bought the door and bottom seal and was already to go. Appliance Pro got the parts to me in 2 days. I read an article that said if the spray arm holes are blocked that this could cause a wave in the dishwasher that could cause the water to fly up to the inlet used for drying and the water could run down between the front and inside door appearing to be a leak. I checked and my spray arms were indeed blocked. I pulled them out, cleaned them up, reinstalled, and low and behold that was appeared to be the problem. No more leaks between the panels. I still replaced the door gasket because my unit was 10 years old. I will save the bottom gasket for a rainy day. The article I read was on Appliance Pro so I find this site full service. Appliance problems can be difficult to trouble shoot. But I would not hesitate to lean on the pro's at Appliance Pro. Happy ending for me. Josh I Fort Montgomery , NY April 03, 2016 Appliance: Model SHV6803UC Leaky dishwasher door and no water circulation Repair videos on AppliancePartsPros.com are tremendously helpful. I bought a used Bosch dishwasher and used the video for replacing/repairing the circulation pump and discovered my pump was rusted from not being used. A quick turn with my hand and it was unstuck and working again. Once the dishwasher was circulating water, I discovered water leaking from the door. I ordered the door gasket and had it in less than 24 hours. Great site and service. Dawn P Everett , WA February 14, 2023 Appliance: Bosch Dishwasher SHX68T52UC/02 E 15 error message; Bosch dishwasher Stopped running mid cycle. I found a slow drip coming from the water inlet valve. This was the source of the E-15 message. The water collected around the styrofoam disk, which then tripped the leak sensor. It was easy to replace the valve, following the video instructions. At the same time, I decided to replace the two door seals, due to periodic leaking in the front of the dishwasher. The lower door seal replacement procedure was long, but the video was very helpful and thorough. The larger, upper door seal was very quick to replace, but there was one problem. The video did was not clear as to the proper orientation of the blade seal with respect to the seal taper. I first installed the seal with the taper pointing outwards. The result was leakage and noisy operation. I found a second source that specified a definite orientation of the seal; that the taper should be pointing inwards. After turning the seal around, the leaking stopped and the dishwasher ran quiet. Success! I suggest that you update your installation video for the upper door seal to make this more clear. Thanks.
