The double drip pan is situated underneath two heated elements and is able to catch any food or debris that fall when cooking. The double drip pan is there to catch any and all waste so that the user may easily clean up after the heat is turned off and the appliance is cooled down.A new double drip pan might be needed if the current one is damaged in any way including being broken or bent so that is it not fully secure under the burner.
