This dishwasher touchpad and control assembly make up the main control center for a dishwasher. The touchpad contains all the functional buttons of the appliance, and the control assembly houses the control board. This component comes as one unit, and the control board is installed directly behind the touchpad in the control panel assembly portion of the part. A faulty touchpad will become unresponsive to the user's commands. The buttons will no longer control the function of the appliance when the touchpad malfunctions, regardless of whether the control board is functional or not.
