A carburetor needs fuel to produce the required combustible mixture of air and gas. To get fuel, the carburetor draws the liquid directly from the fuel tank. Any excess fuel will be returned to the tank through the fuel return hose or fuel return line. In addition to providing the path, a fuel line is also responsible for preventing over-pressurization, as well as vapor lock. A fuel return line is constructed from a thick rubber material that is also fuel resistant. However, it may still become brittle and crack due to regular wear and tear. Usually, a broken fuel return hose results in symptoms such as engine misfires, loss of power, carburetor flooding, fuel leaks, and hard starting. A brand-new replacement is available here. This fuel line return is an original part from MTD. It measures 3.78 x 3.78 x 0.016 and is compatible with tillers, leaf blowers, and string trimmers made by Craftsman, Ryobi, Yard Machines, MTD, Bolens, and Yard-Man. Installation will require a screwdriver, cutters, and pliers. This fuel line return is sold individually.
This fuel line kit is a part used in gasoline-powered edgers and trimmers. It delivers fuel from the gasoline tank to the carburetor where it is mixed with air that has come through the air filter. The mix flows into the combustion chamber where it is ignited to turn the driveshaft of the tool. As an added feature, this fuel line kit also has another line to feed excess fuel back into the gas tank. Extra, unneeded fuel sometimes flows into the carburetor when the engine is cold and users are trying to prime the engine. Although durable and intended to last, this fuel line is subject to weathering over the course of several years, especially when subjected to temperature extremes. A broken or fractured fuel line will leak gasoline, resulting in an extremely dangerous situation. Leaking fuel lines must be replaced immediately. This component is easily located, situated between the fuel tank and the carburetor. It is easily disconnected and replaced. When choosing a new fuel line kit, make sure to choose a part like this one, which is a genuine OEM certified part. This fuel line kit is compatible with Jonsered and Husqvarna equipment.

A fuel inlet is a connector that allows gasoline from the fuel line of an engine to pass through it into the carburetor. Once in the carburetor, the fuel mixes with air and passes into the cylinder, where it ignites to create power for the engine. Thus, the fuel inlet is attached on the one side the carburetor and to the fuel pipe, or line, on the other. This inlet is used in power tools such as lawn mowers, snowblowers, edgers, pressure washers, chippers, and generators. Periodically, since it is made partially of plastic, the fuel inlet will weather and crack so that it is no longer fuel tight. The main sign to watch out for with fuel inlets is gasoline leakage. This is always a dangerous situation. The user may have to remove the carburetor housing cover to determine whether the leak comes from the fuel line or the inlet valve. It is a good idea to replace each of these pieces at the same time. When choosing a replacement part for the fuel inlet, always use a genuine OEM replacement part like this one. This inlet is compatible with power tools made by Tecumseh, Briggs & Stratton, Toro, MTD, Lawn-Boy, and Cub Cadet.
