This replacement part is a piston, and it is intended for use in different types of lawn equipment. This is a genuine replacement part made by MTD. This piston is commonly found in lawn mowers and is an important part in the user process. Pistons help transfer the combustion power of the engine to other working parts of the machine. A new piston might be needed if the overall performance of the engine is lacking compared to previous uses. If the lawn mower is not able to build enough power to accelerate, the piston might be faulty. It is also common for the engine to use an excessive amount of oil or put out white or gray exhaust smoke. All of these indicators might mean that the piston should be replaced. This part is a genuine OEM replacement part. This piston is sold individually and can be used in lawn mowers manufactured by MTD.

Seals cylinder and piston to prevent combustion gas leaks. Replace if engine uses excess oil, loses power, or has poor compression. Verify fit.
Connects piston to connecting rod inside the engine cylinder. Replace if pin is stripped, worn, or missing to restore proper piston assembly and movement.
This is a crankcase gasket that seals the crankcase cover to the engine block on a lawn mower. It prevents oil from leaking out of the engine and keeps contaminants from entering the crankcase. Replace this gasket if you notice oil pooling beneath the engine, visible oil seepage around the crankcase cover, or if the gasket is torn or deteriorated.
This oil seal fits around a rotating shaft in a small engine, preventing oil from leaking out of the crankcase or transmission housing. It creates a tight barrier between moving and stationary engine components to maintain proper lubrication. Replace this seal if you notice oil dripping or pooling beneath your equipment, or if the engine is losing oil without an obvious external leak.
Engine surging or racing? Replace a worn governor gear and shaft assembly. Critical for speed control on small engines. Moderate DIY repair.
This is a genuine OEM gear governor assembly sourced from the manufacturer for use in many small engines in lawn and garden equipment. The gear governor assembly engages the drive shaft on small engines and maintains the speed of the engine based on presets from the manufacturer. The governor adjusts the throttle as the load increases or decreases. If the governor is not working properly, the throttle would have to be adjusted manually when the load increases and decreases. If the engine runs too slow or too fast, or if it surges, the governor may need to be adjusted. With the engine in idle, move the governor lever manually to open up the throttle. If the governor is working properly, it should push the arm back to its idle position. Fine-tune the governor using the screw on the bottom of the arm of the governor. Loosen this screw so that the throttle is wide open. Locate the clip that is connected to the governor shaft and turn clockwise. This sets the governor. The gear assembly is sold individually. It is designed for an array of small engines. This governor assembly is compatible with various models MTD, Cub Cadet, and Troy-Bilt engines.
Metal connecting rod assembly that links the crankshaft to the piston in small engines. Replace if rod is bent, cracked, or damaged from wear or impact.
Oil drain pipe for small engines and snow throwers. Replaces cracked, broken, or corroded drain pipes. Installs on engine block for oil changes.
Replacement oil drain plug for outdoor power equipment engines. Installs in the oil pan to seal the drain opening. Replace if stripped, cracked, or leaking.
Engine oil seal prevents oil leaks in snow thrower engines. Replace if you notice oil seeping around the crankshaft or engine case. Verify fit with your model.
