Crosley Tub Or Basket

Replaced outer tub assembly shell. AppliancePartsPros Video was outstanding and easy to follow. Removed outer shell prior to ordering replacement. Took about 2-3 hours off and on (ie. washer and dryer were stacked and I was working in a confined space). A lot of time was spent in cleaning up the washer, spyder etc. prior to installation. I found that the balance ring had popped loose from the top of the inner metal tub and had been scored so that the fluid was leaking out. So, I removed the metal shell of the washer, then the top plastic cover over the outer tub. I pulled out the old part and put on the new one. I had to give it a pretty good push downward to engage the clips and get it fully seated. I ran my hand along the inside of the metal tub to feel that the new balance ring was fully seated. Basically rebuilt the washer from the ground up. Spent more money than a new washer but we have been so happy with the way this machine has worked over the last 19 years figured it would be money well spent. Read more
