How to Troubleshoot & Replace Bosch AP4355372 / 00645208 Detergent And Rinse Aid Dispenser

Replaced with dispenser part ordered. Part was a little difficult to remove,you have to pry back the all the metal fins to release the part. Same putting new part in, you have to push fairly hard to get fins to "click" , make sure they all click back to part ,this is what holds part tight to keep out water from electrical area inside door of dishwasher 

Received new soap dispenser and replaced it. It was not a hard job but it was difficult to install new dispenser because the tabs that hold it were hard to bend back in shape. Good instructions. 

Ordered a new detergent/rinse-aid dispenser part. Problem was that the model number on the appliance itself did not exactly match the picture of that model on the website. This dispenser fits several models, but our dishwasher has a detachable control panel, but if you're at all handy, this was not a game-changer. Took the door apart, removed the control panel first, then the whole outer panel, which exposed the workings of the dispenser. Tried the "dime trick" shown on the video, but there were several more spring clips than I had dimes! Managed to get past this with small screwdrivers, and the dispenser replacement proceeded quite well. Had to retrieve the dimes which flew into the dishwasher, replaced the panel and the control panel, and everything worked! So far, so good! Saved a lot of money on this repair, which takes a little patience, but well worth the effort. Many thanks to all at Appliance Parts Pros. 

Went to APP.com and found replacement part Detergent and Rinse Aid Dispenser, part # 00645208 (AP4355372). Watched the APP.com video and it seemed a straightforward repair so ordered the part. Arrived in 2 days. Followed the video for the install process and other than a couple of differences between the Bosch dishwasher repair in the video and what was needed to effect the repair on my Thermador, all went quickly and easily. Total repair time was about 1.25 hours including sorting out the differences mentioned above. Briefly, the differences were: (i) on the Thermador you have to remove 8 screws to release the front panel (in addition to the six lower screws shown in the video, the two top corner screws on the Thermador must also be removed before the panel will slide down and out; and, (ii) the control panel on the Thermador is slightly different from that on the video's Bosch machine (it goes down further behind the from panel so the top wire connector and the harness release are obscured) but these can be treated the same once the panel is removed. It was a fun little project and good to save the cost of a repairman coming to do the job!

Replaced soap dispenser. Part was correct. The spring steel that hold the part it place was hard to get back where it needed to be to get the part seated again. It took quit a bit of bending and adjusting. 

This was a bit trickier than I thought it would be. First, pile up a stack of books to support the steel door front when it is removed. Next, open the door down onto the the stack of books and then remove all the screws around the perimeter of the door. There are 3 types of torx screws, make sure to note where each goes. Once all the screws are out the steel front will drop down onto the books and you can then remove the control panel so you can see the dispenser. You will need to carefully unplug the connector from dispenser. Use a small screwdriver to pry the tab to the side, it will not come out otherwise. Likewise, carefully pry the plastic harness away. You might need to unplug one connector at the top of the unit so the wiring can be moved out of the way Now the dispenser is ready to be removed, this is the hard part. It is held in place by numerous sharp metal tabs. These have to be moved aside SIMULTANEOUSLY to allow it to pop out. Prying one or two at a time I found, will just waste 20 minutes or so. I used stainless dinner knives (they were handy in the silver drawer) and used one for each tab. Once all the tabs on 3 sides were released, it popped out. I then wiped the flange clean and installed the new one. The seal is very stiff and you will have to press with 10-20 pounds of force around the perimeter to get all the tabs to click into place. Hard part over, it is easy to reverse the wiring / screw steps and put the thing back together. 

Replaced the detergent and rinse aid dispenser. The video on your website was easy to follow. My dishwasher needed to have 8 screws removed for the door to be removed but other than that the video was spot on, 

Ordered the detergent and rinse aid dispenser and replaced it. Worked after 1 load of dishes and no residue along with cleaner dishes. 

After a couple of months of an increasingly strong leak in the rinse aid dispenser, which would get on the very front dishes and empty within a couple of cycles, I found this video that helped me fix the problem quickly. The replacement part arrived the next day, which was incredible. The only tool I needed that I didn't have was a Torx T20 screwdriver (around $5 at the local hardware store). I am not a handy person, but I was able to get this done in about half an hour following the video. I did this entirely myself, although there were a couple of steps where another pair of hands might have helped. The dishwasher has been working as intended for the next 5 cycles, so I'm content that this fix worked.
