How to Troubleshoot & Replace Bosch AP4355372 / 00645208 Detergent And Rinse Aid Dispenser

Replaced the dispenser, but I must say the most difficult part was trying to push the new part in place through the opening on the door. I was trying to put the bottom edge in first, then trying to pry the upper part in place which didn't work. After I looked at the repair video again I made sure all the metal tabs were bent inward so they would catch on the tabs and made sure I pushed the part straight in with no tilt with my other hand supporting the other side of the door. It snapped right in! I guess it can be easy if you know what you are doing and not messing it up! Allen 

Bosch DW about 4 years old. Tried the method where you start the wash then open the door interrupting the cycle at about 15 minutes. That actually worked at first, but then the problem kept happening. Called Bosch and they suggested pulling the filter, cleaning that and running a bottle of dishwasher cleaner through it. That cleaned it up but dispenser still didn't open. I finally bought the new dispenser, followed the video instructions and BINGO! Problem solved. Not hard if you can follow instructions. 

When we bought our house the dishwasher came with it. The dispenser door never shut properly, so I kept jamming the mechanism to get it to close. Replaced the detergent and rinse aid dispenser. 

I ordered a new one with some help from the tech department from appliance parts pros and installed it myself. It took about 20 minutes total. 

Replaced soap dispenser. Been through 3 uses. Opened each time. 

I used a star screwdriver plus 7 large coins to put them around the dispenser to make easier to push it out ; 

Replaced dispensing unit 

Replaced the soap/rinse dispenser mechanism. 

Replaced the detergent dispenser
