Lance V Los Altos Hills , CA July 16, 2015 Appliance: Jenn-Air Accessory A340 My thermador double oven's doors would not close fully After seven years of looking at my oven and thinking I should really see if new hinges would fix the issue. I went online searched for "Thermador oven door hinge" and up came Appliance Parts Pro. com and after about three minutes of looking at two different hinges I found the correct hinge for my oven. Shipping was quick and within 30 minutes I can changed out all four hinges. Now the oven operates better because the doors close tight. AND! The oven light isn't on 24/7 Read More... 6 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 30-60 minutes Tools: Screwdrivers
Robert A Emerald Hills , CA January 09, 2016 Appliance: Model THERMADOR SCD272ZS-01 Oven door did not shut properly so that the light was on in the oven all the time I needed part #00414511 or AP2831942 for my Thermador SCD272ZS-01 double in wall oven. Those parts are discontinued by the manufacturer. Someone on Craigs List was selling them for $209.00 a piece. After looking around on your web site I compared the specs and picture of the hinge I bought which was part # 00487746 (AP3196146). It looked identical. So I took a chance. If it is not identical to the part I needed, it is at least functionally identical. It works perfectly. The oven door now shuts properly and the light goes off as it should. Peter B Walnut Creek , CA February 17, 2016 Appliance: Thermador Built-In Ovens C301U Oven door would not close all the way I replaced both door hinges. It took about 30 minutes to remove the old hinges, clean the glass between the door panels and re-assemble the doorr. The door now closes properly providing a good heat seal and properly activating the door switch to turn off the oven light. I had to use a piece of PVC pipe to lever the new hinge into position to secure the latch that allows the door to be re-installed in the oven. Tarina E Keswick , VA January 02, 2016 Appliance: Model THERMADOR SMW272 The oven light stayed lit on our thermador smw272 wall oven and the oven although heating up fine was not cooking properly because the door did not close all the way We replaced the door hinges. First, we opened the oven door fully and put the door latch clip in the upright locked position, then removed the door from the oven by grasping it on either side and raising the door a bit, jiggling it to lift the hinges and pull off the door. We then put the door flat on a table, oven handle down, hinge side up. Using a screwdriver handle, we pushed back the hinge so that we could lower the latch clip to unlock the hinge , releasing the two parts of the hinge. We then unscrewed the screws on the inside of the door to remove the door front. We could then access the hinges to replace them. Then we pushed the hinge together so we could relock the latch clip of the hinge before putting the door front to back, screwing the screws in and then reattaching the entire door to the oven. It took us a while to figure all this out but was not hard to do. Read More... 1 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 30-60 minutes Tools: Screwdrivers
Keith S Carmel , CA December 04, 2015 Appliance: Model THERMIDOR C271US Error codes after turning off a hot oven eventually leading to relay board failure and over temp I had a spare relay board, so I changed it. But to finally address the root cause, I changed the door hinges and the door seal. Videos from Appliancepartspros were quite helpful, but we're too generic on one point. Thermidor oven hinge springs must be released before they can be removed frm the door. This fact and how to do it were not covered. The need was obvious once the door was disassembled and the hinges were exposed. But I am very cautious about compressed springs when I don't know how strong they really are! I found another video which assured me that by placing a screwdriver handle across the hinge hook and leaning on it, the hinges could be released safely. After reassembling the door in order to make a stable platform, the rest was a snap! (without any loud snaps ;-). Would have been 10 minutes without confusion over the springs.
