How to Troubleshoot & Replace Bosch AP5690748 / 00628998 Handle End Cap

This repair couldn't have been easier, a few simple steps only requiring a screwdriver. And best of all, AppliancePartsPros has a video on their website showing you exactly how to perform the repair. Great! 

Purchased the replacement bottom rack. and some internal wire-racks that can be raised and lowered on that bottom rack. The piece I wish I had known was that those extra wirerack pieces were included as part of the entire bottom rack part number. So I ended up with extra parts that weren't necessary. 

Exactly as shown in the ApplianceParts Pro's video (which I greatly appreciated). 

I followed the video instruction provided at AppliancePartsPros.com. Amazed at how fast the parts were delivered. I ordered two end caps so I would have a spare for the future. As I was doing the repair I noticed the other end cap was cracked and needed to be replaced. My advice is if one breaks replace both end caps. 

We moved into a house and the dishwasher was missing its top drawer and an end cap for the handle was broken. After doing a little bit of research, your company had the parts in stock and at a reasonable price. Even better, they arrived quickly. The cutlery drawer was easy to replace. The handle end cap took about 20 minutes to replace - I helped my wife do it. We probably saved ourselves several hundred dollars in labor and markup fees. Best of all, we had the satisfaction of being able to do this ourselves. The online video was great. Thanks! 

I followed the video you supplied. It was very easy to fix the issue. I would have been done in 10 minutes with a difficulty rating of 1 but both spacers came off and the video was not clear on how they had to be positioned. It sounded like I wasn't alone with this issue. After watching other videos and expanding pictures it became clear. The long side of the spacers go on vertically and the curved fingers face outwards. The cylindrical part on the right spacer with the wires faces down. After positioning the top of the door with the clips inserted you have to push the right and left side bottom of the door to snap it into place. Hope this helps. 

I ordered the stainless panel, along with the handle and end caps. It was reasonably priced and arrived very quickly. My husband and I watched the video on your website and followed the directions. In less than half an hour we were done, and it looks fabulous!

Remove and replace 

The video was helpful. But I struggled to get the spacers in the right place. The video doesn’t show where the spacers should be. It took me a long time to figure it out by myself. As the video says, the spacer and the info light do jump at you while taking out the lower door panel.
