How to Troubleshoot & Replace Bosch AP4339596 / 00611332 Drain Pump

Ordered the replacement drain pump from APP, and it arrived the next day! The installation of the part was super easy, and the horrible sound is now gone. 

I asked customer service at AppliancePartsPros.com for help, after describing my dishwasher symptoms. I had an answer in less than an hour, pointing to the drain pump as the probable culprit. I ordered a replacement, and it arrived in a few days. The repair video described the procedure, and it made the repair fast and easy. The dishwasher is repaired. Replacing the door was the most challenging. There are two plastic clips that sit on the door panel near the bottom. The top of the door slides up and engages with the plastic control panel at the door top, then the plastic clips push into slots on the frame. 

Pulled bottom cover. Twist the old one clockwise to remove. Unclip power wire. Put wire back on the new one. Twist counter-clockwise to put back on. 

First, let me say that appliancepartspros.com is AWESOME! The pricing, diagrams, videos, and ordering process are top-notch. So, the problem didn't turn out to be either the drain pump or check valve, though the videos provided by APP made changing them out a breeze. The problem was the drain pump cover. That part was not seated firmly and the small tab on the cover wasn't engaged in the sump wall. The video provided by APP for the drain pump cover shows the technician using a flathead screwdriver to press down on the cover firmly and 'snap' it into place. Now I have a new drain pump and check valve installed, the pump cover correctly installed, and we're washing, draining, and sanitizing our dishes once again! I don't want my appliances to fail, but when they do, I'll be returning here before calling in a repair technician to the house! 

I replaced the drain pump with replacement pump from appliancepartspros.com. It was fairly simple but awkward to get at. 

I cleaned all filters. Still would not drain. I replaced drain pump. Still would not drain. I remembered I had just replaced the garbage disposal so the problem lead me to that. The disposal had a piece of molded plastic over the area where the dishwasher drain hose attached. This was blocking the dishwasher from draining. I knocked out the piece of plastic per the garbage disposal instructions (that I did not initially read) :) and hooked up the dishwasher drain hose. I cycled the dishwasher and all is well. As for the drain pump, super easy to replace. The video Appliance Parts Pros has is perfect. I skipped the part of removing the front dishwasher door and was able to replace the pump no problem. 

Replaced check valve, that you supplied and watched your video. I also purchased pump and gasket material, just in case check valve was not issue. Although pump was not needed, I plan to keep. 

Called three different repair companies. All of them had an excuse to not come out. Even with a $95 service call fee. Went online to see what the problem might be. Found that the code was either dirty filter or at worse the water drain pump. After another two days of playing with the machine, I finally returned to Appliance Parts do search the dishwasher parts diagrams. I found the part I needed but most importantly I found a video of how to fix it. I watched the video and said hay I can do that and ordered the part. Drain pump arrived on the second day. It took me 1 hour to replace the part (to much help from the cat). Part worked great. I have ordered from Appliance Parts last month for a control panel for my oven. I knew the company and that I could trust them. Very much worth the service.

I put a new pump in the dishwasher. It did not fix the problem, but they were very quick to ship and helpful information.
