How to Troubleshoot & Replace Bosch AP4339596 / 00611332 Drain Pump

Yes. I followed the instructions and was able to replace the pump myself. The instructional video was excellent, however my model and make of dishwasher was different than the one on the video…so there were parts “in the way” and eventually I had to remove the entire dishwasher to get at the pump…so it took quite a bit longer. 

After lots on on-line tutorials, we decided to buy a new drain pump and replace it. It took my husband less than 30 minutes. (He did find the gasket to be a very tight fit.) The dishwasher is now running perfectly.

I've always trusted Appliance Parts Pros so I knew where to go on the Internet for expert help. I always get the right part the first time and if I'm unsure if it's the correct part I just send them an email. I watched their video on how to replace the drain pump on my dishwasher. The important thing to remember when putting the new drain pump on is to make sure the rubber seal is completely seated in the center by applying equal amount of pressure around the new part to make sure it is well seated and to make sure that the two tabs of the pump housing on the dishwasher get seated inside the connectors of the new drain pump . It will be hard to turn by pushing in and turning counter clockwise at the same time to properly install the part, but you can do it. Watch the video a few times until you understand the process. Once the drain pump is on, rock the new drain pump you just installed back and forth a few times to make sure that it is properly seated and the tabs are secure. If it's not seated properly it will come off on one side. Just try it again. I turned my dishwasher on its side for an easier repair. My drain pump blew off and flooded my kitchen when I did a test run . I just made for sure to press harder on the new part to make sure it seated properly and the tabs on the dishwasher housing were inserted securely into the new part. This fixed the problem. 

Dishwasher stopped during the beginning of the cycle and through the E 24 code. All drain lines were completely free of obstruction when holding up the max level float, the drain would initiate and drain without an issue. Bought a new drain motor because that’s what everyone says it most likely is removal in installation of new drain. Took about five minutes and was easy to accomplish. 24 code still showed up. Found that whenever any programs started, the drain would initiate for about 30 seconds stop and then initiate again and then E24 code would be thrown about two minutes into the cycle. At first I figured out if I can open the door during second initiation and close it the dishwasher works fine. Later realize that if I turn the dishwasher on, leave it on for about two minutes without starting a setting that the dishwasher will go through cycle without a problem. It seems that it’s probably something to do with the control board and not the drain pump. Dishwasher is almost 11 years old so I think I got the best out of it anyways. Hope this helps.

A quick YouTube video explains how to replace the pump. The only step I skipped was removing the outer door skin.
