How to Troubleshoot & Replace Bosch AP8064375 / 12054183 Sealing (Gasket), 1-Pack

Just to start, I began noticing intermittent leaking (small puddle of water mainly on the right side) from our Bosh dishwasher. So I began researching and looking closely at the seals. One thing I found out is that there is a hole in the Bosh dishwashers on the right side wall and you should not be putting anything tall (cutting boards, pan lids, large plates etc....) and we were doing this. The other thing I found out is that the door gasket looked very worn in several spots. Replacing the gasket we received was very simple. I did end up cleaning the the housing with dish soap. Just fold the gasket in half to mark the halfway mark, begin inserting at the center of the Dishwasher (look at the latch) and just push the gasket in down the line and then go to the other side. you'll have 1/4" to 1" extra (note with the one I got here there was very little slack). Test the door to make sure it looks, sounds and feels like its sealing... NOT TOOLS NEEDED. Test your DW by running it a couple of times when you can be around and can check for leaking while its running... I did not replace the lower door seal as this part does not seem to need replacement. 

I bought the door and bottom seal and was already to go. Appliance Pro got the parts to me in 2 days. I read an article that said if the spray arm holes are blocked that this could cause a wave in the dishwasher that could cause the water to fly up to the inlet used for drying and the water could run down between the front and inside door appearing to be a leak. I checked and my spray arms were indeed blocked. I pulled them out, cleaned them up, reinstalled, and low and behold that was appeared to be the problem. No more leaks between the panels. I still replaced the door gasket because my unit was 10 years old. I will save the bottom gasket for a rainy day. The article I read was on Appliance Pro so I find this site full service. Appliance problems can be difficult to trouble shoot. But I would not hesitate to lean on the pro's at Appliance Pro. Happy ending for me. 

I found a slow drip coming from the water inlet valve. This was the source of the E-15 message. The water collected around the styrofoam disk, which then tripped the leak sensor. It was easy to replace the valve, following the video instructions. At the same time, I decided to replace the two door seals, due to periodic leaking in the front of the dishwasher. The lower door seal replacement procedure was long, but the video was very helpful and thorough. The larger, upper door seal was very quick to replace, but there was one problem. The video did was not clear as to the proper orientation of the blade seal with respect to the seal taper. I first installed the seal with the taper pointing outwards. The result was leakage and noisy operation. I found a second source that specified a definite orientation of the seal; that the taper should be pointing inwards. After turning the seal around, the leaking stopped and the dishwasher ran quiet. Success! I suggest that you update your installation video for the upper door seal to make this more clear. Thanks.

I bought a used Bosch dishwasher and used the video for replacing/repairing the circulation pump and discovered my pump was rusted from not being used. A quick turn with my hand and it was unstuck and working again. Once the dishwasher was circulating water, I discovered water leaking from the door. I figured a new dishwasher was going to run me $1000, and getting my repair guy out to look at my 11 year old bosch would be $89 (then I'd find out repair cost), so $50 of supplies and an attempt seemed like a good bet. If I had been unsuccessful I was planning to buy a new unit (didn't want to spend $400 repairing an 11 year old machine). Worked with my husband. I replaced the drain hose first. That was very simple. Then we tackled the lower door seal. Watched a few different videos. It was actually not that hard. Just be sure to line it up correctly and then attach the rubber to the bottom of the dishwasher after it's installed. (The old one was disgusting and misshapen, no wonder it may have leaded). Finally, the door gasket, which literally takes 2 minutes total. Much more time was spent cleaning the area after we removed the old one (lots of mineral deposits and other gunk). All told, it took me less than 2 hours for these three repairs as a total novice (have never repaired any appliance ever). I'm happy I did and hope I'll get a couple more years from the machine. And I would not be scared to do another repair on it. 

Replaced gasket. 

One of the side trim strips was folded over on itself, which made latching the door difficult. It was an easy fix: used a Torx screwdriver to remove 2 screws on each side, and just replaced it on each side. I also ordered the door gasket and the trim strip at top of the door, while I was at it. Glad I replaced the door gasket: it was wearing down and very, very dirty! Very quick repair. Also, the shipping was incredibly fast, ordered it over a weekend and arrived Monday or Tuesday, very fast. Thanks! 

Replaced the springs and due to age, went ahead and replaced side & top strips and door gasket. The challenge has been leveling the machine and making sure the gasket actually works (there has been leakage but we noticed the gasket at the bottom was straight and it seems to fix the problem). I think it will take longer than a few moves up and down for the gasket and trim to form a nice seal with the door. The cleaning of the appliance took the longest and I went out of my way to do additional stuff that was technically not part of the overall repair (I noticed in your videos, nicely glossed over). But anytime I pull an appliance out, I do extra deep cleaning in the back and inspect around for any other issues (like unwanted insect nests). The actual overall repair was about 30-60 minutes and included watching the very useful videos you have online. (by the way - the videos are excellent!) 

Replaced the side trim strips--one had folded over and occasionally prevented the door from closing tightly. I found the parts easily on the website and watched the helpful video to see how to replace them.
