How to Troubleshoot & Replace Frigidaire AP4556791 / 316555800 Dual Element

Got new replacing part, took pictures the connector the old one. The connector of the old not matched with the new one . After reading the code on the connector finally connected the right wire to the right place. It's working well . To those people who DIY . If your new part connector not matching with the new one . Read the bottom of connector it should said 1a,2a,1b,1b. Make sure all the wiring on the old matching with the code with the new one . It's easy to replaced if the wiring exactly the same but it is not. 

I Replaced it with a replacement element ordered from AppliancePartsPros .com I had to rotate the burner slightly so that the leads would connect, as the terminals for the heat Sensor are oriented differently on the replacement element. 

I removed the cooktop found a part number and the model of the range. Went online and found Appliance Parts Pros, I ordered the part in the morning and it was here the next day. I set the new element on top of the old and switched the connections one at a time, removed the old element put the range top back on. Plugged it in, and we were back in business (barely enough time for my wife to start complaining) It took about 20 minutes. I thought I would need to take a half day off to wait for a service tech. YOU GUYS ARE GREAT. 

Ordered a new top and one burner from Appliance Pro, which arrived in one day. Watched youTube video on how to replace it. Was very simple and cost effective. 

I put the piece but one wire didnt reach and i had to rotate it so it could reach. That was the only problem i had the rest of it was easy. The piece arrived earlier than i thought it would arrive. I give five stars excellent service . 

Quick online research suggested two potential solutions. First was a bad switch. Easy repair, but did not fix problem: burner stayed on. Second was bad burner. Followed video instructions to remove and test burner with multimeter which revealed both elements were fine. I suspected the thermal limiter, the temperature controller in the middle of the radiant burner. Not finding this as a separate part, I spoke with customer support, was told it only came as part of the burner. Ordered, arrived, and installed in 10 minutes. It worked and now am cooking again! 

Ordered a new element after looking at the part number on the stove. Installed it easily. Saved bucko bucks I am sure doing it myself. 

I replaced the dual burner with the new one. Some of the push on lugs were a little loose so I squeezed them with pliers til they held on firm. 

Ordered a new element, but so others will know in my case I plugged the new one in, burner did not work but the indicator light came on. After calling and speaking with Tempest. I figured it had to be a wiring issue so she connected me with Tebor and that guy is a wealth of knowledge. What corrected the problem was switching 2 wires around and that took care of the problem. Great Company I would certainly order from them again. Note to others that wiring configurations could be different. 

Removed and replaced the element. Make sure to mark connectors with tape because new elements have a different set up than original.
