The Dual Element is an OEM part for Frigidaire ranges. This element features two heating zones, allowing for versatile cooking options by providing both high and low heat settings on the same burner. It ensures efficient and consistent heating, making it ideal for various cooking tasks. It contains a 9-inch, 1200-watt element and a 6-inch, 1300-watt element, combining for 2500 watts at 240 volts

Causes of a bad dual element can include electrical issues, wear and tear from regular use, or physical damage such as cracks or breaks in the heating element. These issues can lead to inconsistent heating or complete failure of the element.

Symptoms of a bad dual element include:

  • Burner not heating up
  • Inconsistent or uneven heating
  • Element not switching between high and low heat
  • Visible damage to the element

This OEM replacement is also compatible with Electrolux, Gibson, Kelvinator, and Kenmore models.

For Frigidaire Dual Element (Part Number: OEM13670382)

John Y for Model Number PLEF398CCB

Hi, I have a Friggie PLEF398CCB and the inner of the r/side dual burner stopped working. I replacement burner assembly (316555800) and it is still not firing up on the smaller element setting only the outer large. My son borrowed my multi meter and I has not returned it so on to plan (B). I swapped out from left to right the burner display boards and the control switches. When I turned it on it fired up the large burner in/out. When I tried the smaller inner burner no good and on the larger setting only the outer ring works? The switch moved from right to left functions as designed on the other side. Do you think I have a board issue? I replaced the control board years ago along and also the left burner assembly that failed with time. What should my next move be . Thanks in advance, John Y.

John Y, thanks for the question. Ensure the switch and unit are wired correctly, and there is no loose, damaged, or burned wiring. Then use a multimeter to determine if you are receiving the correct voltage from the control to the element.

Richard, Unfortunately, the way the glass top is set up, there would be no way to change it.

Deborah for Model Number FEFL77ASB

I followed all the instructions on several videos to replace my dual burner. All went well until I replaced the wires and saw that there was one fewer wiring terminal on the replacement than on the original. Apparently Frigidaire changed the design. So I did the best I could. I had taken pictures of the original wiring. But nothing came on. So I clearing had something miswired. How do I know where the are supposed ton go now? Also there was a small grounding wire that jumped from one small terminal to the other that it looks like there is no longer a need for. I hope this is true.

Deborah, the jumper wire would no longer be used as the new element has a built-in jumper bracket. The brown wire that was on the original element's ceramic block will go to the L-shaped terminal. The brown wire on the original element coil terminal will go to the middle coil terminal on the new element. The purple wire will go to the outermost terminal on the element coil. The last two wires will have smaller terminals and can plug into the smaller terminals on the opposite side of the ceramic block. Specific orientation would not be necessary.

Scott, Based on the information provided you will need to check for power to the inside part of the element using a multimeter and the wiring diagram ( from the tech sheet packaged with your range). If there is power to the element then the element will need to be replaced, If there is no power to the inner element then the switch would likely need to be replaced

Kon for Model Number FEFL64FSD

my frigidaire right front dual burner small element burnt out. I looked for parts and found part AP4556791. when I went to replace it, I found out that one of the wire connectors was too small. this was the connector to the 1b terminal on the old burner. the new burner is labeled (clockwise from top left) 2, S, H, P1. How do I know which wire goes to which terminal? I connect the wires to the new burner similar to how they were on the old burner but the new burner won't come on at all and the hot surface indicator light stays on. Kon Model number FEFL64FSD Serial number VF70238604

Kon, the small terminal black wire would go to terminal 1b and the dual grey wire would go to terminal 2b. The brown wire that would have originally been on the ceramic square would go to terminal 2a on the new element. The next brown wire would go to the terminal near the ceramic block while the tan wire will go to the terminal farthest from the ceramic block.

Nancy, it would be recommended that the wires are checked to ensure they are on the terminals necessary. The large connector black wire will go to terminal 2a, the large connector brown wire will go to the second from the farthest out terminal, the purple wire to the farthest out terminal, the small connector black wire to terminal 1b, and the small connector brown wire to terminal 2b. If these check good, the surface control 316239403KITK would need to be tested for 240VAC when the element is turned on to just the inner burner operating. There should be 240VAC from the black wire on the power cord terminal block to the brown wire on its own separate terminal of the control. If there is not a full 240VAC, the control has failed. Unfortunately, the surface burner control has been discontinued by the manufacturer and is no longer available.

Hello Gerry, if you turn on just the inner element and the outer element comes on instead then the wires to the element's inner and outer elements are reversed.
